AHMEDABAD:   Jodhaa Akbar   , director Ashutosh Gowariker’s romantic saga released on Friday, has courted problems in Ahmedabad. The city’s multiplexes have decided not screen the film after a row with UTV, the film’s producer, over sharing of ticket revenues.

"Before the release, UTV was demanding 50 per cent of total ticket collection. We were ready to give them 45 per cent. In between, they released the movie in single screen cinema in Gujarat. Now we are not going to screen the film in multiplexes," said president of Multiplex Association of Gujarat Manubhai Patel.

Patel said since the producer then decided to release the film in single-screen cinema hall, the multiplex owners said they will pay only 40 per cent of the total ticket collection since the initial business went to single screen owner. He added that the association’s representative is in Mumbai negotiating with UTV.
