State Congress asks members to take 20 pc salary cut |

AHMEDABAD: Following the announcement of Congress working committee, the Gujarat Pradesh Congress has asked all its elected representatives to take to take 20 per cent salary cut.
After economy flights and train rides, the Congress working committee has asked MPs and MLAs to take a 20 per cent salary cut. Congress spokesperson Arjun Modhvadia said that Gujarat Congress has gone a step ahead and asked all its elected party members including district panchayat presidents, mayors, municipal councillors and those occupying positions on the boards or corporations to take a pay cut for one year beginning from September.
He said that the drive is aimed at showing solidarity with those hit by drought. The MLAs and representatives on the direction of the central leadership have been told to hand over the amount cut from their salaries to respective state governments.
