IIMA Chaos 2012, touted to be a greener and grander Chaos, is all set to begin with a bang today. However, the price of the season passes for the much-hyped cultural festival, has doubled as compared to last year. But organisers believe that will not affect the footfalls at the four-day event since it holds an important place in Ahmedabad’s culturescape.
The VIP season pass, valid for all four days, was priced at Rs 1,000 last year. But those who want to buy it this year will have to shell out Rs 1,800. The regular season pass which was available for Rs 600 last year will cost Rs 900 this year.
The theme this year’s Chaos is ‘Colours of Life’.
Says Neeraj V Chandrashekhar, coordinator, Chaos 2012, “The pricing also depends on the expenses the event will incur.”
A classical concert by Ambi Subramanium followed by Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan will mark the beginning of Chaos 2012. However, before the maestros get on the stage, kids of Prayas, an IIMA student’s initiative to educate underprivileged kids, will perform at Louis Kahn Plaza.
Interestingly, this year the children will perform on their own without the help of IIMA students. Chaos will also host a concert by an Iron Maiden ‘tribute band’ called Higher on Maiden on Saturday. A performance by Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy is scheduled for Sunday.
Students from reputed colleges and business schools across the country will participate in contests lined up during the day.
